Remington S9500 Fast Professional Results without the big bucks.

I have naturally curly hair and never is my hair very straight
so was excited to try this product out and see how it would work.

It heats up in record time and the temp. is digital so you know if you need to
turn it up or down when you first use it to get the results you need.
My hair is on the finer side so lower temp worked great and i like
that you can lock in your temp. if you want to.

It works so well that after i was done my hair was nearly two inches longer
because it got so straight from this product.
Ease of use was amazing but i was not happy just trying it out on my hair
so i had some fun and made dh try it out
he has the tight small curls and worked just fine on his hair as well
though gave the kids a bit of a chuckle (so that right there was worth it lol).

I also like that you can lock it shut for storing it just be sure it is cooled completely
and make sure to unlock before you turn it on as you do not want to ever let it heat with the plates closed.

I was going to give this to my niece after testing it out but i love the results so much
that will just buy her one and keep mine.

Remington S9500 got rid of my frizzies

This is the time of the year when my hair gets frizzy I really like this product For one thing, it heats up rally fast. I hate it when I have to wait and wait for the heat. It is really easy to use and glides rather easily, unlike some i have had in the past. It also has an automatic shut off which i am so grateful for. It even has a 4 year warranty which is unbelievable The barrel is an inch, and I have had smaller ones, which take longer. This thing is fast and i am grateful because I have really long hair

One of the great things about this Ceramic Hair Straightener with Pearl Infused Plates is that it heats up really fast if you are in a hurry. There’s no waiting for it to reach a high temperature to straighten your hair. Another great plus is that it doesn’t pull out your hair. The plates glide effortless through your hair for top quality straightening. My old straightener pulled out a lot of hair when I pulled it down. This one does not do that. It glides and has wide plates.

The quality of the product makes your hair perfectly straight in a short period of time. It’s fast and easy and works very well, even on thick hair. My daughter has naturally curly hair that is very, very thick and this straightener worked great in record time, even with all of her hair.

This straightener gets hotter than our old one. The plates heat up fast and they are super hot for the best results that are faster so you don’t have to spend a lot of time worrying if you are burning your hair because this product works so quickly.

The results of the hair straightener is that in the end, your hair looks naturally straight, it doesn’t look like you spent a lot of time working on straightening your hair (which you don’t anyway) but with our old straightener the results did not look as natural, there would be indents and such that didn’t look one hundred percent natural. With this product we didn’t have to contend with anything like that. We were very pleased with how fast and easy making our hair straight was with this product.

This straightener does not burn your hair. We have used a straightener that you could actually smell as it straightened but the ceramic plates did not have any smell when it was being used. The plates are very smooth and get very hot fast and produces Top Results if you straighten your hair a lot, this is a great product and it would also make a fabulous gift.

Remington S9500 Hair Straightener Very Nice

I have thick, curly hair, so straighteners are truly tested on me. This is a great product. The controls are on the side and must be pushed in, so it’s difficult to accidentally turn off or change temperatures. Plus the controls are digital, so you can see an actual temperature rather than the typical low-high scale. There is even a turbo setting. It beeps when ready – nice if you are multitasking and it heats quickly. The pearl coated plates slide effortlessly through my hair. The rsults are great, too. My hair was shiny, silky and did not have any frizzies.

Remington S9500 Hair Straightener Impressive!

Very sleek design. The buttons are flat and on the side, it shows you the temperature of the iron as opposed to the level of heat like all other straighteners I’ve used. It beeps when it’s up to the temperature you set it for(it goes from 300-450f)and automatically turns off if you forget to do that yourself.
Since I already have 2 flatteners(one curved, one straight) and they’re both 2 inchers, my initial plan for this was to use it for touch ups and up by the roots, but this works so well, that I think I’ll be using my other 2 flatteners for touch ups. This takes away the frizz that other flatteners leave behind.
I just hope it doesn’t die on me after a month or 2 as some other products have. If that happens, I will definitely update and change the rating.

Remington Hair Straighteners Sleek and Smooth, Just Like They Promise

This straightening iron does a great job. That’s the most important thing, of course, but let’s get into the details:

PACKAGING – it’s very well-designed packaging with pretty cherry blossoms, which makes it an attractive gift.

SPEED – I saw that it claimed to heat up in 15 seconds, and I thought, “Oh yeah? Let’s count.” So I counted to 15 and… sure enough… it was hot enough to use. It took about another 15 seconds before hitting the default temperature of 360, but I found that I didn’t need it to get quite that hot to work.

AESTHETICS – This is a really pretty little thing. The black and pearlized pink just look so sleek.

EASE OF USE – It’s very cool that the unit allows you to select an exact temperature, rather than guessing with a knob or up and down switches. It beeps to let you know when it’s at the right temperature, and an electronic display shows you exactly the temperature you’re using. The swiveling cord is a nice feature, too.

GLIDING – The pearl-infused ceramic plates do make a difference. They glide effortlessly over hair, with no snags. The other thing I’ve never found with another straightening iron is that it makes no sound when you close the plates together– I’m used to a “thunk” noise with my other irons. This one is so darn dainty.

HOW LONG IT TAKES – I found that I had to spend about 3 minutes on my hair to get it pin straight after I blow-dried it. I have long wavy hair, medium thickness, that tends to frizz. I did have to go over a few areas two or three times, but still, 3 extra minutes isn’t bad to have shiny, healthy-looking hair.

WARRANTY – There’s a 30-day money back guarantee, and a 4-year limited warranty for replacement.

CAVEATS – A few things make me stumble a bit in the use and care guide– one is that you’re not supposed to wrap the cord around the unit. I’m not cool with that, because it’s a long cord, and I don’t have anywhere to store it. I’m not sure how else one is supposed to store a straightening iron… I always wind the cord around them, and because I have no other ideas for how to store this in my little bathroom cabinets, I will do so here, too. That voids the warranty.

Also, the automatic turn-off is in 1 hour. One hour is a very long time. I’d like to see it shut off automatically in half that time, at most. Considering I can get it to heat right back up in 15 seconds, no one’s going to get annoyed if it shuts down sooner.

The other warning I wish wasn’t true was that you’re not to lock the unit while it’s heating. As a safety precaution, I wish I could do that… I have a child, and I’d rather lock it every second I’m not actively using it.

Also, I thought the hinge lock didn’t work, but it turns out that you have to really “force” it. If you just stop when it clicks, it won’t lock.

BOTTOM LINE: Overall, this is a very well-made iron that I expect to use often.

I had my wife do all the testing on this product because my hair is way too short and its already straight. She loves it and it is really a very high quality tool. It heats up very fast, has an automatic shut-off, and also has a digital display to let you know the temperature.

The Remington Style Professional T Studio Pearl Ceramic hair straightener is a great buy for the low price it’s offered at. It’s very ergonomic and the buttons are placed correctly so that the iron doesn’t accidently shut off when you press your hand against it, like many flat irons do. It locks in up to 450 degree heat, which is higher temperatures than many pricier flat irons offer, and most impressive, in my opinion, is that it heats up to this high heat in 15 seconds! The unit also offers an auto-shut-off mechanism, which is a good safety feature to have.

The outside of flat iron is black and the inside is pink, which perfectly matches many of my teen daughters other accessories.

The after-effect is very smooth and straight hair, in no time at all. We love it!

Remington S9950 Light Weight, easy to use, adds shine, body and straightens well

This iron is easy to use right out of the box, has variable temperate, that only took a few minutes to figure out, and is infused with avocado oil as well, which I’m sure helps the shine! It also only takes a few minutes to heat up, so if you’re in a hurry, the iron heats up in about 1-2 minutes.

Does NOT burn scalp while working close to it, which is better than other irons I’ve tried.

With this iron, it is surprisingly easy to use to straighten AND style (curl hair, flip ends, etc.), and one can change style easily in minutes, even with long hair!

If your New Year’s resolution is to take better care, to look better, loose weight, etc., this tool makes a great edition to one’s toolbox of beauty tools! I wish I’d had this before my son’s wedding, as my hair does tend to fly away and get the frizzies. This takes that out of the equation, and unlike using a ton of moose, that makes one’s hair stiffer, this product makes one’s hair easily manageable, AND you can add extra style, and if you don’t like it, you can change it back in seconds! I can also get it right next to my scalp without getting burned! Also great for damaged/overly dry (And probably processed hair) hair as the low temp setting is made just for those of us who have thin hair that gets bleached by the sun easily!

I never thought I needed a straightener with an LCD screen or thermostat, but this thing ROCKS!

You press down the power button firmly, and a bright blue screen lights up.

Next, you choose the actual temperature (not just numbers 1-25, like my old straightener; who knows what temperature it was??) you want, and in less than a minute, beep-beep, it’s ready!

The grip is super-comfortable, making the straightener easy to maneuver. The wand isn’t that big. There’s a rounded edge that I used to give the ends of my hair a bit of a curve, but it would work just as well for simple straightening.

I didn’t notice any particular smell, other than that of a new heat appliance. I also didn’t notice any unwanted residue from the avocado oil & vitamin E.

This is one terrific piece of equipment, and my old straightener is definitely being handed down!

Was so surprised that this flat iron actually does what the advertisment says it does.. it actually DOES leave your hair shiny,smooth, and the conditioners calm the ends of my hair. When I opened the package something that struck me was.. wow this would make a nice gift.. its a very feminine pretty iron and the packaging is pretty too. A easy 5 stars!

Remington S9950 Great Buy

I just used this new iron on clean and dry shoulder length fine hair. I used the lowest setting and that worked great. My hair had some static electricity issues and it all got smoothed out. My hair is soft and has much more shine!

I straightened it and then flipped the ends with a quick turn and that also worked great. The rotating cord is a huge plus. Also the floating ceramic plates are great. My last iron stopped coming together flat after about a month. I returned it to the company and got a new one only to have it happen again so I am glad to have this new one that looks like a winner.

I have one con that may be just due to the fact I have long fingers but as I use it how I hold it I kept hitting the increase and decrease temperature buttons and need to kept re-adjusting. Over time I should learn to hold it in another fashion. This may or may not be an issue for you but wanted to get everything out on the table so to speak.

My hair feels soft and not burnt in any way. It looks and feels great.

It is an nice soft blue/aqua color that looks nice in the bathroom, not the ususal brown or black.

The 4 year warranty makes it a great value. I highly recommend the product. It is a bit smaller than some other irons which I think makes it much easier to use and store.

Remington S9950 Shine Therapy Hair Straightener A hit with my me and my daughter

I was very skeptical about getting this since they never seem to do what they say they will do. We were both pleasantly surprised. It’s not cumbersome and very easy to use. You have to remember to press the button firmly and not just once as we started out doing. My 12 year old was able to use it by herself and it heated up very fast and left her hair straight and shiny. She loves the blue color and so do I. I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. We usually go to the hairdresser and get our hair ironed out but this will definitely save us some money in the future as we can do this at home without worrying about damaging our hair. Not sure how the avocado oil works but it does.

Remington S9950 Shine Therapy Hair Straightener AWESOME!

This straightener works great!! I love how fast it heats up and it leaves my hair feeling so soft. I do agree with the other reviewers with the placement of the buttons. I orginally thought it was because I have long fingers, but noticed that others have stated the same issue. I will just learn to adjust my hold as I do not want to purchase something else for one reason. The four year warranty says that Remington made this product to last at least that long. So this is definately worth the money!!

Remington S9950 Shine Therapy WONDERFUL!

The Remington s9950 Shine Therapy Straightner is a great product. I have wavy hair and love to use my GHD. I guess thats why I was offered this Straightener to review.

1) Dual Voltage.I love that this is a Dual Voltage product. I think they should list that in the Ad.
I hate carrying another straightener when going to Europe or Asia where the voltage is 220. A major plus mainly for that. Infact I spent big bucks on my Ghd just because it was Dual Voltage.

2) Floating Plates. I am new to this concept as my GHD lacks this. I love to be able to press the plates togather and the floating plates let me know when to stop applying pressure.

3) Long Cord. I find the cord length long enough to suit my needs.

4) Conditioning Plates. This too is something my GHD lacks. I dunno still if this really helps prevent split ends. But it is a good concept and I hope it works long term. I am sure GHD will follow suit considering they never thought of this.

5) Temperature control. THis is something too my GHD lacks. I love that I am in control of the temperature.

6)Lock. THis is a great safety feature.

Button placements- Not the best spot as we can accidentally change the temperature. But I guess when I get used to this it wont be a problem after all.

Releases hot air on use. But my ghd does that too,a little less though.

It does make me wonder why I spent so much behind my GHD.

This straightener also looks gorgeous. I makes a great gift.

Remington S9950 Shine Therapy Best Ever

This hair straightner is amazing! It is the first straightening iron I have used that does what it says it is going to do.

Here is what is fantastic:

3) Runs through your hair swiftly and shines the hair
4) Styles QUICK

I have long hair (just passed my shoulders by about 3 inches). I have naturally straight hair but I have some waves and one cowlick in the front. Using this, my hair was silky smooth and the cowlick completely gone. LOVE THIS IRON and I won’t be using anything else going forward.

I did not feel it was drying my hair, actually quite the opposite. It tamed all frizzes and did the job in a quick fashion. My kind of iron!

The first thing I noticed about the Remington Shine Therapy flat iron is that it’s pretty and I wanted to touch it. Maybe that sounds silly, but it’s a pleasant change from devices that look at home next to the soldering iron in the tool box.

It heated up in less time than it took to figure out how to press and hold the power button correctly. The box claims “30 second instant heat”, and for my setting of 390, it certainly met expectations. The available heat settings are in increments of 20 degrees from 300-360 and from 370-430. This arrangement is quick and efficient; it takes only 7 clicks to move from the highest setting to the lowest. Additionally, it offers uncommonly high heat settings for a consumer product.

The control buttons are recessed and easy to avoid while using the iron, plus they’re lockable (press and hold “-”) to prevent accidental changes. The unit sits comfortably on the countertop without tipping over, thanks to a flattened section on the bottom. Bonus points go to Remington for these quiet, helpful features. Extra bonus points are awarded for the 4-year warranty. The power cord connects with a sturdy, molded swivel and helps control cord tangling. This is a necessary feature so Remington doesn’t get any extra points, but I would have taken away points if it was missing. Same thing goes for the hinge lock.

I’m not sure what to make of the “Shine Therapy” conditioner-infused, floating ceramic plates. My hair was shiny to begin with, and I didn’t notice any additional shine. What I did notice is that the plates seem… slick is the wrong word… Drag-resistant? Extra smooth? My hair slips through the Remington with almost no resistance. At first, I thought that the plates were too loose, but they’re good – my hair just slid much more easily through them than I’m accustomed – I guess that’s the conditioning effect at work. My straightened hair does feel very soft and smooth.

I don’t know how the technology of the infused oils work but it does seem to leave hair shiner and in better condition than flat-irons without the oils. The floating plates are nice and the iron does not pull or tug at your hair.

It’s a small, sleek looking model that is a very attractive ice blue color.

The buttons are under your hand during use but do not get pressed while you straighten your hair so that it isn’t turned off or adjusted accidentally.

I really like the Remington, it is easy to use and worked on my coarse, thick, wavy hair. My only complaint is the hinge lock is hard to turn. It’s a small knob that is hard to turn and I’ve messed my nail up every time I’ve tried to lock the hinge.
