I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. It gets hot very quickly and it curls and/or flattens beautifully leaving hair shiny and smooth. I have very curly and at times frizzy hair and usually use my own flattener or curling iron but wanted to try hers. The difference I saw in my hair led me to sneak into her room every morning and steal it to do my hair before work. After doing this off and on for two months, I am buying my own finally. I’ve used many brands of flatteners and curling irons but I’m not sure what it is about this one, it’s just something you have to try to see the difference. P.S. my daughter and I both have medium to long hair if that makes a difference, but we each have layers/bangs in the front and have no issues at all using it

My daughter 16, has gone through several hair curlers and striaghteners. She was then finally told by a professional hair stylist that CHI made a combo curler/straightener and so she asked for one for Christmas. Though ‘pricey’ this is a very good product and my daughetr has already recommended it to several of her friends as it works better then any previous product. NOW hopefully it lasts for a long time!!

I would normally avoid spending a lot of money on beauty products, but my friend used a Chi on my hair at a photo shoot and I was sold on the brand. This is the only brand of straightening iron that has ever been able to tame my hair. This model heats up quickly, retains its heat well, and does a beautiful job. My only complaints are that the tip gets too hot to hold for more than a few seconds, and that I really wish it had come with some sort of protective cover for the heating element to make it a little easier to carry around in a bag of clothing changes and such. I bought it on sale at a good discount, but I would have paid full price if it had come down to it. I feel it was definitely worth the price, considering the quality and reliability of the product. If you can find it on sale, snag one for yourself A.S.A.P.

Farouk CHI GF1538D A Great Product, If Used Properly

I ordered the CHI Turbo 1-inch flat iron two days ago, and have used it twice. It gets the job done, if used properly. I sprayed the CHI 44 Iron Guard on my hair to protect it from the heat – and I used the flat iron immediately on the wet hair. Results weren’t good, as my hair smelled burnt all day. The second day, I sprayed the CHI 44 Iron Guard all over my hair, then made sure my hair was thoroughly dried before trying to use the CHI. The results were great, no burnt smell. I have straight hair, but it poofs during the summer because of the heat. The CHI gets rid of the poofing! You can also curl your hair with the CHI (instructional videos are on YouTube). It takes a bit of time to learn, but I got great results. I’ve read reviews claiming that the CHI breaks within a year or so – I hope mine lasts! The digital readout is terrific, as the exact temperature is displayed clearly.

So far we have no complaints about the product, other than the GFI plug doesn’t allow her to have her hairdryer (also GFI) and this flat iron plugged into the 2 plug outlet at the same time. I don’t understand women’s hair regimens, but apparently that might be a detriment to some. Good value for the pricetag though.

I’ve had the chi ultra before, but not the digital one. My original Chi stopped working after a couple of years and I loved it so much that I had to buy another. I loved this one even more – I have very thick wavy hair that can be out of control most of the time, but with this it become slick, shiny and straight! The price was unbeatable. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend it to who ever is even thinking about it.

I absolutely love it. It works well and quickly. It even removes frizz somehow.

It is light, cuts itself off, allows you to control the temperature (which is wonderful for someone with fine hair), and won’t burn your hair off.

I’ve used a pretty decent one for about 5 years but could never understand why my hair was always so much prettier and smoother when my sister-in-law (hair stylist) did it. It was because she had a chi. Now I have one and my hair looks just the same as when she does it.

I’ve been using the chi flat iron regularly ever since I bought it a month ago and it works fabulously! It heats up right away and makes my curly hair super smooth instantly. The size of the mini turbo is easy to use and very light to handle. You can also use it to get spiral curls (i suggest you ask a friend because it’s difficult to do a proper job at the back). I think it does a fantastic job and I highly recommend it to everyone! BTW, my hair is 3 inches below my shoulders, thick and coarse…if this iron does a great job for me, it’ll work for anyone.

My hairdresser did my hair with this iron about four months ago and I was shocked at how amazing it looked. I wanted to buy the iron right then, but the price at the salon was far too high, so I got it here on Amazon. I have had no problems with this product, whatsoever, but I do have a few tips to make it an easier experience.

1. Use a glove style hotmitt on your free hand. This allows you to grasp the iron and squeeze the plates together without burning yourself.
2. Squeezing the plates together and moving the iron slowly down from root to tip gives you the best effect. It is time consuming, but very worth it.
3. Use large hair clips and separate your hair into three layers: under layer, middle layer and top. Start with the hair underneath, then pull down the middle and straighten the under and middle together, then pull down your top layer and straighten all three together. Do the hair that frames your face LAST. This helps keep you from sweating if you are sensitive to the heat.
4. Once you’ve finished with the iron, give your hair some short blasts from the “cool” setting on your hair dryer. This will help set the straitening and remove the heat from your hair to help prevent damage.
5. Finally, use a good finishing cream or pommade (VERY lightly, a pea-size amount is usually all you need) to smooth any flyaways around your part and at your ends.

If you take the time to do it right (I have just past shoulder length hair, so it’s 15 to 20 minutes for me) your straight style will last two to three days as long as you don’t get it wet or have the need to wash your hair more than every other day.

I LOVE my new volumizer Chi. It heats up fast and delivers what it promises for sure. Please know it is a little smaller and slimmer than the regular Chi (my own is still going strong after 3 years … I travel a lot and was ready for a duplicate flat iron to keep in my suitcase). I have shortish, fine hair so this isn’t an issue for me. It actually gives me more control and is great for traveling. I am not sure how someone with a thick head of longish hair would feel about the smaller, slimmer size. Though I’ve always been very happy with my Chi I decided to try out a “ghd” for my duplicate flat iron because of all the rave reviews. I was terribly disappointed and did not understand the hype … I quickly decided to return it. At first I thought it might be fake as that is a big problem with “ghd’s” but I registered it with the company and it was the real thing for sure. I will definitely buy a 2nd Volumizer Chi when my first one dies of old age. I love my original Chi but the new one (Chi Volumizer) is even better. I have found a superior product and model and I’m sticking with it as long as they make them.

I ordered this CHI Volumizer after using the Chi 2″ flat iron for four years. The 2″ is still going strong but I was in a mood for change. My hair is shoulder length and naturally slightly curly with a lot of frizz. Like the 2″ it tames my unruly mop and gives me a smooth, shiny and soft mane. The difference is that the volumizer is much more versatile in that you can use it to volumize the top (rather than teasing it) and even use it to make cute, tight curls with a little practice. There are videos posted on YouTube.com that are excellent tutorials on how to use this fabulous little tool. One last thing I like is that it is soo much smaller than the 2″ flat iron and therefore is lighter and packs easier.

Chi products have a large price tag but last and do a great job – worth the $$.
